Slamnation!
April 22nd 2011
NRWL reporters were in the right place at the right time recently during an exchange between wrestlers Quasar and Slam Jackson. Slam Jackson met up with Quasar at a restaurant to discuss his upcoming match with Pedro Muchacho. Here is a transcript of a portion of the conversation they had.
Slam Jackson: A piece of wood, you say?
Quasar: A piece of bark, actually. It had animals drawn on it.
SJ: That is messed up, man. What does it mean?
Quasar: Well, it means either Ingoyama wanted me to have a gift to hang on my wall, an invitation to go hunting, or he wanted my attention for a match. I honestly have no idea. Whatever it is, I’m going to meet up with him in the ring. If it’s a match he wants, I’m happy to give him a memorable one!
SJ: You always do. I am planning on one myself with Pedro Muchacho.
Quasar: Right, so, you want to know about Pedro’s strategy in the ring?
Slam Jackson: That’s right, man. Look, you are the only guy around here that has been in the ring with him so far. You know what he is capable of in the ring. I’ve watched the tapes. I know he’s fast. I know he’s got some good moves. What am I looking for?
Quasar: Well, I think you’ve got it. He’s fast but he’s also unpredictable. Just when you think he’s slowing down, he kicks it up another notch and if you aren’t ready, you are out before you have a chance to react. He’s not the biggest guy around, but he’s one of the most dangerous. No doubt about it.
SJ: Sounds like a fun time! I am looking forward to this and so is the rest of the Slamnation!
Quasar: I’m sorry. The what?
At this point in the conversation, Slam Jackson stood up from their table and started talking to the whole restaurant.
SJ: Yeah! Who here is a member of the Slamnation? Let me see where you at!
The entire restaurant exploded with cheers. Quasar looked around in surprise. The feeling in the room was similar to what you can experience in the NRWL Arena. Slam climbed up on the table, put his hands above his head and clapped to get the audience pumped up. After a minute, they started to quiet down so he could speak.
SJ: The Slamnation is worldwide, my celestial friend! These people are the best fans in the whole world! You’ll see what I mean? You know my friend, Quasar? Give it up for the “Superhero from the Stars”! Let me hear you!
The noise in the restaurant was deafening. Slam Jackson had turned a nice, quiet dinner atmosphere into a huge pep rally. There were chants of “Qua-sar! Qua-sar! Qua-sar!” and cheering. Slam pumped his fist in the air as they did it. Quasar stood up and waved to everyone with a surprised look on his face.
SJ: Yeah! That’s right. You know who the good guys are. Are you all ready for Slam Jackson to get in the ring with Pedro Muchacho? Are you ready for a slammin’ party at the NRWL Arena before, during, AND after my match? Yeah?!
The restaurant gave an assuring cheer.
SJ: Then this is what is going to happen. Slam Jackson. Pedro Muchacho. We’re going to rumble in that ring and it is going to be one of the greatest matches you’ll EVER see. Move-for-move, turnbuckle-to-turnbuckle, North-to-South, East-to-West, it’s coming at you full force! Pedro, be ready because we’re hungry! We’re fired up! And I will deliver you to Slamnation! Let me hear you!!!
With that, the challenges from both Ingoyama and Pedro Muchacho have been accepted. Will Quasar be successful against Ingoyama? Will Pedro Muchacho be able to hold his own against Slam Jackson and his “Slamnation”? We’ll find out at the next NRWL Event!
