The J-Transfer - Late Interviews

March 30th 2011

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of the J-Transfer! I’m Jay Phillips! Well, the next show is just one day away, and I’m here to bring you some last minute updates, quotes, and even some buzzer-beating challenges! Let’s roll the clips!

*Pedro Muchacho is seen carrying his gym bag and in walking to his Rolls-Royce Phantom in an expensive suit and his luchador mask.*

Jay: Pedro! Your thoughts on that cosmic challenge from Quasar?

Pedro: Let me tell chu sometheeng, Hay! Que-sar had the luck of the Ireesh on hees side last time because eet was Saint Patty’s Day, and hees all green like a lepreekon! But thees time, will be deefrint! Don’t expek thees match to be as long, hombre. I will beet him queekly and weeth authoratee! No one will say hees performance was stellar! Ha ha ha! See what I deed there? Ha ha ha!

*clips cuts to a ring in an near empty gym where Bruno Kowalski is sparring with one of his trainers*

Jay: Bruno! Can you give me some insight on your Triple Threat match with Mark Blood and Slam Jackson?

Bruno: *in mid-application of a rear naked choke hold* It’s going to be a hell of a match. Slam Jackson, despite his flashy look and name, is pure talent. I might have to rely on a few double-teams in order to take him down. And as for Mark, it’s clear his father trained him well. He had some bad luck in the tournament, but I think anyone who writes him off is underestimating him. I won’t make that mistake.

*clip to Jay cowering down in front of Nick Belhor with Apollyon and Abbadon standing behind him*

Nick: *audio cutting in* ---and furthermore, Rex should be calling ahead and reserving a room in the hospital’s E.R. And the fact that this is a non-title match shows the hubris of NRWL’s executives and how they want their “marketable” champion figurehead. But I ask them, what will they do when their “poster boy” champion is nothing but a mess of irreparable flesh and meat lying in the middle of the canvas at the hands of Apollyon?

Jay: So it’s Apollyon taking on Rex? What’s in store for Abbadon then?

*Nick flares his eyes and scowls at Jay, who runs away*

Jay: Those guys scare me.

*cut to Jay standing with Ash in front of an NRWL logo backdrop*

Jay: Ash, you currently aren’t schedule for any match this Thursday. Anyone you would like to call out?

Ash: First off, let me say that you’ve got an awesome button-down shirt there. I also prefer the saturated colors as opposed to the pastels. And look at your rockin’ the matching tie!

Jay: Thanks! I got them at the Express!

Ash: Awesome! But yeah, the fans’ favorite, me, isn’t on the card right now. And that totally sucks! But there’s also 3 other dudes not on the card as well – Storm Harrison, Slugger Malone, and Marty Anderson. To all them I say, how about it? Let’s give these awesome fans a great match. Let’s steal the show! And if you are really asking “what’s in it for me?” then I say, “showcasing your talents in a match will get you a title shot quicker than doing nothing but watching other wrestle.” But I’m going to add a twist! How about some sort of “team” match. No one has one of those yet. Now, I would take anyone as a partner cause they’re all great! But I feel a certain kinship towards Storm Harrison. He’s got an awesome name, and he’s got long hair like me!

Jay: But—

Ash: So I’m ready to throw down and slap palms! Yeah! *walks off camera*

I thought “Slugger” was a pretty awesome name, and he has long hair too… Anyway, there you have it for the clips. Lastly, I have a message from Ingoyama……I think.

*reaches off-camera, pulls in object.*

See, I received this large piece of bark with weird markings and stick figures kind of painted on it. Using Google Translate, I interpreted it to roughly mean:

“Scotty the Body Eiffel Tower, when you stand off against me, you will lose. I will make you know the pride of my people. When the lion roars, your bones will quiver in panic under your flesh. You are now the trophy for which I hunt.”

And that’s it for this edition of the J-Transfer. Will the new challenges be accepted? Who will back up their words? Who will eat their words? What if Apollyon defeats Rex Anarchy? All these questions will be answered this Thursday! Don’t miss it!

Sweat and Tears - NRWL Champion Born

March 24th 2011

Everyone has been asking me what I thought of the NRWL Championship Tournament. In short, I thought it was a great first event that showed a path for a bright future. We saw some real standouts and some fantastic matches.

I think some of the performers who we should be keeping an eye on closely are Slam Jackson, Bruno Kowalski, Storm Harrison, Scotty Paris, Pedro Muchacho, Quasar, and the NRWL Champion, Rex Anarchy.

It would be wrong of me to ignore the amazing match between Pedro Muchacho and Quasar. Quasar went on to win (and go to the finals) but neither man really came out as the star of the match. The match went fifteen minutes which is unheard of in a normal one-on-one matchup in the NRWL. It could have gone either way at any moment. I agree with everyone else, this matchup was the highlight of the night and I am really looking forward to the upcoming rematch. If any match deserved a rematch, its this one.

I should take a moment to speak about Rex Anarchy. I was impressed by his arsenal of wrestling moves. He really performs like a classic wrestler. He’s a worthy champion but if these Sons of Darkness are as capable as they are intimidating, I think he may be in trouble.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a “Blood & Tears” column without a little behind the scenes education, would it? The most surprising thing about the NRWL Champion is that he almost wasn’t a part of this tournament at all! It’s true. Rex Anarchy was the very last man added to the roster. In fact, the initial sixteen men were already in place. The NRWL strives on bringing in top talent that can be versatile in the ring and they had some reservations about a few wrestlers on the roster. I won’t name names but at the last minute Rex Anarchy took someone’s spot. Who would have thought that the first night of his NRWL career would be his biggest? Don’t feel too bad about the wrestler he replaced. The man he bumped off the roster ended up being signed as an NRWL Prospect (think of it like the minor leagues). You’ll likely see him sometime in the future.

I can’t wait to see where things go from here. Until next time, keep your shoulders off the mat!

The J-Transfer - Mistaken Identity

March 24th 2011

This is Jay Phillips with another edition of the J-Transfer. Since the tournament, we haven’t heard anything from “The Star Player” Johnny Young. I decided to spend some time with this NRWL superstar and get his opinions on the state of the fourth season.

I met with Johnny on his way to the NRWL training facility. I rode shotgun in his BMW. He said it was great because now he could (legally) use the carpool lane. I was glad to help. While driving, he had this to say about the NRWL.

Talk about your boring roster! Is there anyone, save for maybe that Paris guy who seems to have a personality? I mean, honestly, if I had a kid, I’d put anyone from the roster in front of them and the kid would be sleeping in seconds. I guess they just don’t make them like Johnny Young. Awww yeah.

I don’t think this is legal but Johnny was doing some weight training with dumbbells while driving. When I asked him about the ring talent of the others on the roster, he had some opinions too.

Ah, well, there’s definitely some talent in the ring. I don’t think I saw a body as impressive as mine but I definitely think that it’s a better crop than there ever was before. I have a few people I need to put in their place, that Bruno Kowalski for one. All in good time, Jim.

I corrected him on getting my name wrong but he just laughed. Unfortunately, the laughs ended as we arrived in the parking lot. Johnny went to pull into a spot in front of the building but quickly jumped out of his car and started a scene.

Can you believe this?! What is going on here? Oh, the nerve! This is my spot! It’s been my spot for years and everyone knows it! Who’s the dead man who parked in The Star Player’s parking spot? What’s this? A Rammstein sticker? Hm. It’s a Volkswagen, too. Oh man. I know whose car this is. Jay Philbin, you are witness to this. There’s only one person that this could possibly be and that’s Meinrad von Brakkus. What an arrogant jerk. I’d expect no less from a piece of Eurotrash like him. He’ll pay for this. Mark my words, he’ll regret parking this cheap hunk of metal in my parking spot. Aww yeah!

At this point, Johnny grabbed his gear and went inside. I don’t think he noticed but at the same time Meinrad von Brakkus was leaving the facility and walking to his car, which was parked on the other side of the lot.

The J-Transfer - Rex Anarchy's Thoughts

March 24th 2011

Hello everyone. Jay Phillips here. If you’ve checked out the News section of the site, you already know that the upcoming match between NRWL Champion Rex Anarchy and a member of the Sons of Darkness is a non-title match.

I was curious about Rex Anarchy’s thoughts on this new development and gave him a call. This is what he had to say.

Jay, this is bullshit. The NRWL is trying to protect me? Is that it? I have no problem with this being a title match. This is just a waste of time. Once I polish of one of these masked morons I.. hey, wait a second, how did you get my cell phone number?

I quickly hung up at this point. He seemed pretty mad and, well, I got the message. Rex Anarchy is not happy about the latest developments concerning his upcoming match. Regardless, this is turning out to be quite exciting for the fans!

Concerns Over NRWL Championship

Recently, a challenge was made by the Sons of Darkness to current NRWL Champion Rex Anarchy. In this challenge, Sons of Darkness manager Nick Belhor challenged Rex Anarchy to a title match against one of his clients. Rex Anarchy has accepted the challenge.

Because neither member of the Sons of Darkness participated in the NRWL Championship tournament, the aforementioned match will be a non-title match. Should the member of the Sons of Darkness who participates in the match with Rex Anarchy win, a title match will be granted.

Action! Scotty!

March 17th 2011

*Scotty "The Body" is reclining on a chair, sunning himself in front of his "SP"-shaped pool outside his enormous mansion. Tanning in the chair next to him is Trixie. Scotty is on his cell phone*

Scotty: Listen, you're my agent! And I pay you way more than your worth! Now you find some way to make this match happen, or you start looking for another client to represent! Because let me tell you, there is NO shortage of agents out there who wouldn't think twice about stepping on their own mothers' necks just to work with me! Got it?!? You find the zoo keeper that's managing that Hakuna Matata guy, and tell him that they've got a match with Scotty "the Body!" Understand?? .............Ok, quiet. I'm not listening to your "But's." Make it happen. Now.

*Scotty disconnects the call and throws his cell phone into the pool. He then calls to one of his pool attendants*

Scotty: Hey! You! There's some garbage in my pool! Fish it out, now! And don't get any grass clippings in the water! Got it??

Trixie: You don't even swim in this pool.

Scotty: It's not a swimming pool. It's part of the landscaping.

Flawless Facts - NRWL Chumpionship Tournament Observations

March 15th 2011

I know everyone is yearning to know my opinions on the recent NRWL Championship tournament. My inbox is filled every single day with adoring fans pleading for me to speak my mind. Well, my underprivileged fans, your wait is over.

The tournament can be summarized this way. Picture two adolescent howler monkeys comically chasing each other around the ring for a few minutes. Then, picture yourself throwing a blanket over one. The blanketed one struggles to find its way out of the sudden, confusing darkness, while the other one looks around dumbly and scratches its backside. Now, picture that happening 14 more times. That was essentially the tournament.

But what can you expect when you look at the roster? The Brokeback Mountain buddies Mr. Charles and Mr. Sunderland continually praise this "fresh new talent pool." I have yet to see any of this alleged "talent." And if it's a pool, it's one of those plastic kiddie ones. How can you take any sort of championship tournament seriously when you guys in it like Ingoyama. The man still lives in a straw hut and would shake his spear at his own shadow. Or take Quasar - can someone tell this guy that comic books and super heroes are things for children? Make sure you use small words though. His child-like mind may not be able to comprehend words with more than two syllables. What about Ash? Please escort him back to the cardboard box under whatever bridge you found him. Bruno Kowalski - don't quit your day job. Who will ride on the back of the truck and pick up the city's garbage then? And let's not forget Mark Blood. Like failure father, like failure son. I'm sure Mike Blood would be embarrassed if he actually had any pride in himself to begin with. It seemed that the only one who showed any sort of spark of having the right stuff is Scotty Paris, but we'll see if he actually makes anything out of that spark. He didn't help his cause by losing out to a Comic-Con cast-off.

I suppose I should comment on the man who won the championship, Rex Anarchy. Sure, the man won the tournament which might mean he's a cut above the rest. But if you look at it, it's like someone handing you a small Ziploc bag full of pennies, and then finding a nickel mixed in. Yeah, the nickel worth more, but not that much more, and it's almost as useless. You wouldn't feel bad if you dropped it down a storm drain. Rex Anarchy is that nickel mixed in with all the pennies. And no one would miss him if he was dropped down a storm drain.

So that's my weigh-in on this tournament. A big charade of low-talent wrestlers vying for their chance to tarnish the established name of the NRWL Championship title. None of these guys would have had a chance against some of the mid-card wrestlers that were around when I was an active wrestler. Guys like The Bean or even U.S. Abraham would give this current group trouble - let alone having to go against any elite wrestler, like myself. Times have changed indeed. I'm sorry you all have to endure this. Actually, no I'm not. You deserve it.

I'm Flawless Fred, and those are the Facts.

A Challenge From The Stars

March 14th 2011

Quasar, the man who battled his way to the NRWL Championship finals against Champion Rex Anarchy isn’t licking his wounds and laying low. Before getting to the finals, “The Superhuman from the Stars” wrestled in a memorable fifteen minute match against Pedro Muchacho that has been regarded as the best match of the night. According to Quasar, fifteen minutes just isn’t enough.

“Pedro Muchacho and I really pushed the boundaries of what people were expecting from us. We stole the show! It was an incredible experience and I think the fans deserve to get even more. If he’ll accept, I would love to face Pedro in the ring again.”

Will Pedro Muchacho accept the challenge? We hope to find out soon!

A Challenge

March 14th 2011

Several NRWL officials were eyewitness to Mark Blood looking for Slam Jackson and Bruno Kowalski in the gym locker room. Neither man was there but when asked why he was looking for them, he simply said, “I want to try this Bruno Kowalski out but I’m not done with Slam Jackson, either. You see either man, you tell them I’d like a three-man match. I’m looking for a good challenge.”

We haven’t spoken with Bruno Kowalski or Slam Jackson yet but as soon as we get a response from either man, we’ll let you know.

The J-Transfer - Interview with the Champion

March 14th 2011

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the J-Transfer. I was pleased to be given the opportunity to interview the new NRWL Champion, Rex Anarchy. In our interview, we discussed winning the championship tournament, the caliber of talent on this season’s roster, and the challenge extended from Sons of Darkness manager, Nick Belhor.

Rex met with me at my desk in the NRWL Arena offices. He strolled in without the championship belt, looking casual in jeans and a plain black t-shirt. He didn’t appear to be interested being there. During our interview, he would look with distain at my fellow employees wearing suits and sitting in cubicles. Clearly, he didn’t like being in that environment.

Jay Phillips: Rex Anarchy, congratulations on becoming the first NRWL Champion of season four. How does it feel?

Rex Anarchy: Jay, winning the tournament was incredible. I’m not sure if you will ever know the feeling of true accomplishment but know that it is a great feeling. Although, in truth, I knew I had this in the bag from the start.

JP: Really? That sounds awfully confident. What made you think that you would win the whole tournament?

RA: Not think, Jay. I knew. I looked at the rest of the competition between my own matches and you know what I saw? Poor technique. Amateur skill. It looked too easy. Judging by how the night ended, I think you can agree I was right.

JP: Umm.. Well, you did come out with the belt but there’s a whole roster full of talent!

RA: There is. This season’s roster is impressive but it doesn’t mean that I am in the same league as them.

JP: Speaking of the roster, there’s two men you haven’t seen perform yet. Abbadon and Apollyon, the Sons of Darkness. In fact, their manager, Nick Belhor, has issued a challenge to you. Did you see it?

RA: Oh, the guys with the carny that speaks for them, right? Yeah, I saw that. It’s a shame they don’t speak for themselves because that Belhor guy is comical to even look at. How are you supposed to feel threatened by a little runt like that? Anyway, despite that, I have to admit, I like the guy.

JP: You like him?

RA: Yeah, he’s got the right idea. See, here’s how the NRWL would want things to go. They’d want to see me go up against guys like Quasar, or Ash, Slam Jackson, you know, the guys who have earned it in their eyes. But Nick Belhor? He kept his men out of the tournament entirely, a cowardly move, I admit. However, here’s where the great part comes in! He completely avoids following the format and decides to do it his own way. I love it! That’s chaos, my friend. He’s got the right idea.

JP: I never thought of it like that. How do you feel about his criticism of your status as champion? Do you feel you are part of the system?

RA: Huh? Oh, no, I don’t care. There’s a very big difference between social anarchy and being recognized as better than everyone else. He’s just trying to get under my skin but I would like to acknowledge his challenge. Belhor, yes, I accept your challenge against one of your brutes. Send whichever one you want. It’ll be more fun that way and I like surprises! I hope you do too because you might be surprised to see a big man cry through his mask.

At this point in the interview, Mr. Anarchy proceeded to stand up, reach across the table to my lunch bag, take out the sandwich I had, and walked away. That was it for the interview. As he was walking out I saw him take a bite and then throw the rest in a nearby wastebasket. What a shame. It was tuna. I love tuna.

The J-Transfer - Mysterious VHS Tape

March 12th 2011

Hi! This is Jay Phillips for another edition of The J-Transfer. I received this weird, square plastic thing in my mailbox this morning. It kind of looks like a big, bulky DVD case with two little wheels on it. One of the older gentlemen that works here said it was called a VHS tape. So I went to our A/V storage and found an old....what did he call it? A VCR? I popped it and hit "play" and here's what was on it...

*The video starts with the sound of microphone clipping along with the camera shaking erratically. It comes to rest pointed at Nick Belhor, with Apollyon and Abbadon standing over his left and right shoulders. The room is empty, and is barely lit by flickering, low-watt bulb in an old lamp with no lampshade*

Nick Belhor: Greetings. Now that this shameful joke of a championship tournament is concluded, perhaps my words will be listened to. They had better – for the sake of the signed talent in the NRWL.

This message’s target audience is none other than the newly anointed champion, Rex Anarchy. Rex, you are a fool playing a fool’s game. You talk about your notions of chaos. Take a look at yourself. You are not against the system. You are now part of the system. The NRWL now has their “poster boy” champion. The people love the charismatic villain. And make no mistake – the NRWL suits will make so much money off of you. Yes, you will line the pockets of type of men that you so claim to be against. Congratulations, you are now Rex Property.

And now, I invite you to take a look at the two men to my left and my right. These men are real men of chaos and turmoil. You may have defeated four men last night, but those four men combined aren’t even half of one of the Sons of Darkness. You know, Abbadon and Apollyon are also quite proficient in causing disorder and disruption to system – the systems of the human body.

So, paper champion, I humbly demand you, after having your shining moment in the sun to celebrate your hollow victory, earn your championship by taking on one of the Sons of Darkness. And I say “earn” and not “defend” because in our eyes, you haven’t proven you’re the best yet.

I implore you to choose and choose soon, or perhaps both Abbadon and Apollyon will have to change their names to “Wrecks Anarchy.”

*video cuts off*

Wow! Rex Anarchy isn't even champion for 12 hours and already he's being called out! Will he answer the call though? We'll see what we can get from Rex and we'll be checking his Twitter account regularly. I'm Jay Phillips and this was The J-Transfer!

Friday, March 11, 2011

On the first night of the NRWL’s fourth season, Rex Anarchy battled through four rounds of the sixteen man tournament to become NRWL Champion. After defeating Ingoyama, Meinrad von Brakkus, and Slam Jackson, he went on to claim victory against Quasar in the final round. Minutes after celebrating in the ring, Rex Anarchy posted to his Twitter account on winning the NRWL Championship.

“As promised... NEW NRWL CHAMPION!!! The Era of Anarchy begins.”

Fans were also treated to an impressive debut from Bruno Kowalski, defeating Johnny Young. Slam Jackson made a name for himself as well. The highlight of the evening, though, was the epic fifteen minute battle between Pedro Muchacho and Quasar in the first round. The match had fans on their feet the whole time. Quasar was victorious but both men were applauded for their incredible debut effort.

With the conclusion of the tournament and crowning of Rex Anarchy as NRWL Champion, season four of the NRWL has officially begun.

Full results from the NRWL Championship tournament will be posted in the “NRWL Action!” page shortly.

Sweat and Tears - NRWL Roster

March 10th 2011

Well, the roster for season four has been officially announced. I am very excited for this lineup. It’s too soon to know who the real standouts are but I thought I would share a few thoughts and answer a few questions as well.

Overall, I think this roster has more traditional wrestling talent than previous years. I think the NRWL is going for a slightly different style of wrestling and it should be interesting to see how it works out. There is still diversity but I think we are going to see styles that match well together instead of clashing. From my experience, the best matches are ones where the wrestlers can work off each other’s styles. It’s going to look good, I can promise you that. I think we could see some of the greatest matches in NRWL history this season.

This is a primarily young roster and that brings positives and negatives. Younger wrestlers usually have more energy, take more risks, and really push to prove themselves. I expect to see that here. On the downside, youth also means inexperience. They can be sloppy and they can make mistakes. I expect to see that here as well.

Before I finish this post, I’d like to answer a few questions that I am sure are going to be asked of me.

Yes, Mark Blood is my son. I trained him and prepared him for his entrance to the NRWL but I have no intention of using this forum to promote him over other wrestlers. Obviously, as a father, I am rooting for him but I intend to keep things professional. I have a job to educate and entertain you, the fans, not fuel my own agenda.

No, I was not involved in Mark being hired. That was all worked out between the NRWL and him. I am truly proud to say that he’s earned the right to perform for you.

I was not aware of Johnny Young’s inclusion on this season’s roster. I was as surprised as you were. As for my thoughts, I am pleased to hear it. Johnny Young was a consummate performer in the past and he appears to be even better now. Now if only he can keep that ego in check!

The NRWL Championship Tournament is going to be announced very soon (perhaps even as this post goes up). I can’t wait to watch it. Part of me wishes I was in it but I suppose that is always the burden of the retired wrestler. Next time, I will share my thoughts on the tournament. Until then, keep your shoulders off the mat.

The J-Transfer - Wrestlers Speak on Tournament

Hi Folks! This is Jay Phillips! Welcome to the J-Transfer! This is my little segment where I show highlights from interviews I've conducted throughout the week in rapid secession! I guess I didn't warrant getting my own section of the website, so I'm stuck under the "Action!" page. Oh well, someday...

With the NRWL Champion tournament brackets now established, I caught up with some of the participants and asked them to weigh in on their matches and opponents.

I found Mark Blood training for his match against Slam Jackson. He had some words for his opponent.

“Slam Jackson? Yeah, I’m looking forward to this match. We’re first on the card and I can tell you that between the two of us, we are guaranteed to start this thing off right. Slam, you seem like a worthy opponent but I have no intention of doing anything less than winning the NRWL Championship. Failure is not an option. I’ll see you Friday.”

Ash had this to say about his match...

"It doesn't really matter who I'm up against in this tournament. I'm gonna give it my all, and see it through to the end. Marty Anderson, watch out! Here I come!"

I spoke with Marty Anderson as well.

“I don’t know who Ash is. I’ve never met the man. What I can offer to him is some advice. Ash, bring your very best because you will need it. I’ll show no mercy. Whether you love me, or you hate me, I’ll make sure you respect me!”

I caught up with Pedro Muchacho at the casino. I had to swim through the entourage of ladies surrounding him, and I never saw anyone play craps in a suit and mask before...

"Que'-zar? Ha ha ha! He ees joke, hombre! He may have takeen heez name from a grande Roman eem-porr-rrar, but he ees no cham-pee-yon! *throws dice* Tell mee theees, seen-yor - what kind ov a man wrey-sools een a reedeeculous mask like that?? *dice are handed back to him* Ees loco! *breathes on dice through mask's mouth-hole and throws them again*"

I managed to find Nick Belhor creeping through the hallways without his two bruisers around, so I wasn't scared to approach him. He seemed less-than-pleased with the match-ups - specifically, the match between his two hulks...

"It's an outrage! It's a farce! I'm even inclined to believe that this is a result of card stacking! Some higher-up did not want two other wrestler out of commission before this season even gets underway, so they pit the two strongest men against each other so only one can continue on! This match should and would be the final match of the tournament brackets for the championship. I'm personally going to file a grievance for this match. If the suits are smart, they will re-seed the brackets. If not, I may have my disciples boycott the match in protest. And that is not an idle threat!"

Mr. Belhor is calling out the NRWL front office on his boys bashin' it up. Will the NRWL execs hear his grievance? If they deny his re-seeding request, will Nick hold true to his word and deny us the match we want to see? Drama drama drama!

But on the other side, Scotty "The Body" Paris seems hardly upset about his match. In fact, he seemed more upset with me...

"*talking on cell phone by his pool* No, I told you. That's not enough for a personal appearance. Who do they think I am? ........ Who the hell is Jesse Ventura??? I'm--hold on? *turns to microphone* What is it, Jay? Can't you see I'm busy here? Oh, you want me to comment on my match, do you? Well, how's this? Storm Harrison is a flake. He sounds like he should be a G.I. Joe action figure! 'Hey Kids! Buy Storm Harrison to battle the evil Cobra Commander! Storm Harrison! Now with Kung-Fu Grip and real simulation tears!' Geeze.... *back on phone* Hello? Sorry, it was just one of the NRWL's minimum-wage clowns taking up more of my valuable time. Now, about that Nike endorsement deal - if they cut ties with LeBron James as an act of good faith, tell them I'll 'consider'...."

I didn’t speak to Rex Anarchy but he posted about his match on his Twitter account.

“The tournament bracket has been announced and I am fighting some jungle dweller named Ingoyama? I promise to send him back there promptly!”

I didn’t even need to find Johnny Young. He found me! He asked me to pass the following along to his opponent, Bruno Kowalski.

“Aww yeah! The Star Player, the ONLY NRWL star good enough to be brought back, is winning the NRWL Championship again come Friday night. Bruno Powerhouse, I hear you’re a great wrestler so you’d better be worth my trouble. I intend to make this look good for one of my highlight reels. I thank you in advance for your part in Johnny Young’s continuing domination in the NRWL.”

And finally, I caught up with "The Polish Powerhouse" Bruno Kowalski, and asking him his opinions on what many people are already talking about as being the "Match of the Night"...

"It's gonna be a helluva match, I can tell you that already. Johnny Young is the real deal. I have to wrestle a perfect match. No questions about it. Even the smallest mistake against him can cost me the win. The man can capitalize on the slightest miscalculation and make you pay in spades. When watching tapes from Season 1 when he won the title, he was good back then, but took things a little more lightly. Now, he's even better, and seems to take things very seriously. I'll have my work cut out for me. If there's a silver lining, it could be that I'll be jumping the highest hurtle first."

I, personally, can't WAIT for this match! It can be one for the ages! Be sure to tune in this Friday, March 11th, when things officially kick-off for Season 4 of the NRWL! I'm Jay Phillips and this was the J-Transfer!

The NRWL is proud to announce the roster for Season Four. The season is beginning with sixteen wrestlers who are considered by the promotion to be “NRWL Originals” as the NRWL is the first and only promotion with the privilege of hosting their talents. The official roster is as follows.

Abbadon

Apollyon

Ash

“The Polish Powerhouse” Bruno Kowalski

Ingoyama

“The Star Player” Johnny Young

Mark Blood

Marty Anderson

Meinrad Von Brakkus

Pedro Muchacho

Quasar

Rex Anarchy

Scotty “The Body” Paris

Slam Jackson

Slugger Malone

Storm Harrison

Fans of the NRWL may notice a familiar name on the roster, former NRWL Champion Johnny Young. In a rare public statement, NRWL President Mr. Sunderland had the following to say about Johnny Young’s inclusion to the roster.

“For the first three seasons we relied on the talents of many wrestlers from outside the NRWL’s walls. This time around, we want to focus on talent that are defined by their NRWL careers so they, in turn, will define the future of the promotion. Johnny Young debuted in the NRWL at its inception. He is an NRWL Original. He wanted to come back and we wanted him back. We think he will be a great addition to the roster this season and we’re sure the fans will agree.”

Mr. Sunderland had no comment regarding the possibility of other former NRWL stars returning to the promotion.

The Roster page has been updated with this list. In the coming days we will provide more details on each wrestler. Please join us in welcoming the wrestlers of NRWL’s fourth season!

NRWL Legends Have A Voice

In our efforts to offer fans a better online experience, we are pleased to announce that NRWL legends Mike Blood and Flawless Fred will be sharing their thoughts with us throughout the season.

Mike Blood’s “Sweat & Tears” offers the Hall of Famer’s thoughts on the current events of the NRWL and as well as thoughts on wrestling in general. His knowledge of the business and the history of the NRWL should provide a unique voice to this season.

Flawless Fred’s “Flawless Facts” is an outlet for the NRWL legend to voice his opinions on the season and its talent. This one might not be the faint hearted. As NRWL fans know, Flawless Fred eyes the world with a very critical lens.

Both men have already offered their first post. Check them out today.
