A Nation Rejects Its Leader

*Jay Phillips is with Slam Jackson backstage for an interview.*

Jay Phillips: I'm backstage with Slam Jackson, the former NRWL Champion. Slam, last time we saw you, you had lost the title to Johnny Young. That was the final night of the NRWL's highly successful fourth season. Now, several months later, the fifth season is about to begin and anticipation is high. What are your plans for this season?

Slam Jackson: Well, as always, that all depends on the Slamnation. Slamnation! Let me hear you!!!

*The lack of response is so quiet that it actually sounds like someone hit the mute button on the entire planet. Slam looks down at the floor and sighs.*

SJ: See, Jay. It's been like that. Ever since that night where I lost the title to Johnny Young. No matter where I go, the Slamnation is no longer there. I went to the grocery store just the other day and everyone walked out. Everyone. Even the employees! I got the message. I let the Slamnation down. I was the champion. The NRWL Champion. It's a title of prestige and I didn't act like a champion at all. I didn't take it seriously. All I did was celebrate and party. Because of that, I lost the title. I am truly disgusted with myself. Jay, I'm goin' away for a while. I need to get my focus back. I need to be the leader that the Slamnation needs. I promise, when I come back, I will recapture the NRWL Championship and I will be one of the greatest champions the NRWL has ever seen. I gotta go now. Take care, Jay.

*Slam Jackson picks up his bag and walks out of the backstage area. The camera follows him as he opens a door and walks out.*

JP: Uh.. There you have it fans. Slam Jackson... is... gone from the NRWL. Unbelievable. We'll keep you posted on this situation as it develops.
