Elements of Surprise?
*”One Trick Pony” by Deadmau5 pumps over the PA system and
Tommy V walks down to the ring to a choir of boo’s from the crowd. He climbs into the ring and takes a mic.*
Tommy: Well, how
about that? Ash is the new champion, and
his first item of business is to not defend the belt. What a champion! I’m not sure whether to chalk it up to fear,
or business savvy. Because being the
champ is quite a lucrative job. Might as
well milk it as long as you can, right Ash?
*”What You Got” by Reveille suddenly kicks on and the crowd
cheers as Ash makes his way down to the ring.
He takes a mic and climbs in*
Ash: Well, well, well
here’s another one. Let me guess, you
want a crack at the title too? See if
you can figure this out. What is the
difference between you and Jacob Washington, Hardcore Adam, and Tiger Johnson? I’ll give you a hint…..They all won their matches
last week!
*crowd cheers at the dig.
Tommy scowls*
Ash: In fact, Tiger
beat you, didn’t he? I don’t even know
why you are—
*Ash is cutoff when “Hero” by Skillet starts playing. Marcus makes his way down to the ring*
Marcus: Pop quiz,
Ash. What do I have in common with those
three guys? I won my match too! Yet I don’t see you dolling out a chance at
the title to me. Nope. Let’s call a spade a spade. You picked your friends and favorites instead
of people who legitimately deserve a crack at that belt of yours. It’s time for a change, and it’s time for a
real hero to step up and wield that title.
*Triumphant music begins playing and Mikey Armstrong makes
his way to the ring*
Mikey: Ash, I
remember you. I’m pretty sure I beat you
last season, right? In fact, I beat
everybody who came at me last season. I’m
pretty amazing in that regard. Did you
do anything like that? No. I think you actually lost your first
match. Yet what recognition do I get
from you? None. Marcus is right. You don’t know a thing about who deserves anything. You might as well have just picked names out
of hat.
*”Stardog Champion” plays and Paul Priest comes down to the
ring. He walks up to Ash and smiles at
him. Without warning, he kicks Ash in
the gut. Ash doubles over and the other
3 start wailing blows down onto Ash. Ash
falls down and turtles while the other 4 continue to stomp him. Suddenly, Marty Anderson and Balance come
running down the ring. The crowd cheers
loudly at the rescue as Marty punches Marcus in the face and who falls and
Marty begins stomping away. Balance
grabs Mikes and throws him into the turnbuckle and starts punching him. Tommy and Paul continue beating on Ash. Then suddenly, Scotty Paris runs out from
behind the curtain and the crowd goes nuts!
Scotty books it down the ramp.
Paul looks up and notices him and squares off. Scotty slides into the ring and charges at
Paul. Paul tries to clothesline Scotty,
who ducks under it, rebounds off the robes and delivers and vicious spear to
Paul that almost breaks him in half!
Scotty rains down punches and the two roll out of the ring, brawling. Meanwhile, Marty tosses Marcus out of the
ring and runs over and punches Tommy and throws him out of the ring. Balance clotheslines Mikey over the
turnbuckles and he splats on the floor.
Paul escapes Scotty and runs over to the ramp and turns and faces the
ring. Tommy, Marcus, and Mikey do the
same. The 4 of them link hands and hold
them up in the air. Ash, Marty, and
Balance stand in the ring yelling at them.
Scotty stands on the floor below and points and screams at Paul. Scene fades out.*

Winds of Change
*A full NRWL Arena is on their feet waiting for a surprise announcement. In the ring, Jay Phillips stands in the ring with a microphone in hand. He smiles and waves to the crowd and then straightens his tie and begins to speak.*
Jay Phillips: NRWL fans, a few months ago, Johnny Young made a strong statement to everyone by viciously attacking fellow wrestler Storm Harrison. In the attack, Storm suffered several injuries, including multiple leg injuries that has kept him from competing. The NRWL has kept fans updated on Storm's situation but he has asked to address you, the fans, live in person tonight! So without further delay, allow me to introduce NRWL star, Storm! Harrison!!!
*Storm's music begins to play and fans begin to cheer. After a few moments, Storm Harrison appears from behind the curtain and heads to the ring on crutches. He takes his time to shake hands with some fans on both sides of the aisle way. When he gets in the ring, he slides the crutches into the ring and hops up the steps on one leg. When he steps through the ropes, Jay hands him the crutches and Storm stands for a moment taking in the cheers from the crowd. He takes the microphone from Jay, who steps back into a corner of the ring to give Storm the spotlight.*
Storm Harrison: Umm.. Wow, I - *The crowd is continuing to cheer and Storm smiles and takes it in for a minute more, mouthing a "thank you" to the fans.* - Haha, well, it's certainly good to know that you still remember me. It's been a while, hasn't it? Too long, I think. Unfortunately, it hasn't been my choice. As Jay stated, I was attacked a few months ago by Johnny Young. In the attack, I was injured pretty badly. The majority of the damage was done to my knee, which required extensive surgery to repair. After these last few months, I've been healing and hoping to make a comeback, but, as you can see, it's been a slower process than I had hoped. I don't know when I'll be able to return, but rest assured, I intend to make a better impact than I did during the first part of my career here. You see, I kind of flew under the radar while some other guys with a little more flair and charisma stepped up and their careers have really taken off. I learned from that while watching from home. You know, I hope to be the NRWL Champion someday and so when I come back, you can expect a new, more exciting Storm Harrison than ever be --
*Mark Blood's music starts playing, interrupting Storm Harrison. Mark walks down the ring shaking his head and smirking as he walks down to the ring. He walks over to the announce table and grabs a microphone before sliding into the ring.*
Mark Blood: Storm Harrison. Well, it's good to see you back on your feet. Or at least, one of them. You know something, Storm? I've always liked you. You've always been one of the good ones. The purists. You come into this ring and you let your abilities speak for you. None of the stupid antics of the others in the back. I looked forward to you returning to the ring. But then I hear you talking about mimicking those in the back who are ruining this great sport? You've learned from watching them in the ring? Please. Don't listen to what these fans say they want. They don't know any better. The noble thing to do is not to fall into the bad habits of those that infect this company but instead show people that in-ring talent is what should make this business.
SH: Don't you think the fans should make their own decisions on what entertains them most?
*The crowd cheers and Mark Blood looks out into the crowd shaking his head and waves his hands at them to stop.*
MB: No! No no no no no!!! Don't you get it? They don't know what's right or wrong! They are all twisted up! They are confused. *Mark pauses and slowly lowers his brow, scowling at Storm.* And so are you.
*Mark kicks one of Storm's crutches out from under him, making Storm stumble back to the ropes and rests his back against it for balance. Mark gets in Storm's face and starts yelling at him. Jay Phillips tries to calm Mark down but is pushed out of the way. Suddenly, Bruno Kowalski's music begins and playing. Mark Blood turns around and looks down the aisle. Bruno starts running toward the ring. Mark kicks the bottom rope in frustration and quickly pulls off his collared shirt. When Bruno slides into the ring, both he and Mark start exchanging fists. Bruno gets the upper hand and throws Mark out of the ring. The crowd is cheering wildly. Bruno goes over to Storm and helps him get to the center of the ring where he stands on one crutch. Bruno raises Storm's free arm and the crowd starts cheering. Bruno lets go of Storm's arm and starts rallying the crowd for more cheers. When he turns back around toward Storm, Storm quickly jabs Bruno in the stomach with the top of the crutch and then whips it into Bruno's head. Storm starts kicking Bruno repeatedly. Mark Blood slides back into the ring and joins in on the attack. While Mark gets down on his knees and starts slugging Bruno with fists, Storm spins around with his arms outstretched, showing he is no longer injured.
As Mark Blood steps back from Bruno, Storm delivers a leg drop to Bruno. Mark picks up Bruno off the mat and drives him back down with a vicious Blood Rush. Storm Harrison picks Bruno up and looks ready to suplex him but suddenly stops and looks out at the crowd, who has begun to cheer loudly at one side of the arena. A spotlight shines out following a figure as it approaches the ring. The figure hops the ring barrier just as Bruno takes advantage of the distracted Storm and reverses the hold into a suplex of his own. The mysterious figure slides into the ring and quickly DDTs a stunned and confused Mark Blood. As the rest of the crowd starts to cheer, the figure stands up and looks around. For the long time fans, they recognize the black and blue haired person as former NRWL wrestler, Balance! Mark and Storm both roll out of the ring and meet each other at the aisle way. They look at Bruno Kowalski and Balance standing in the ring before quickly heading backstage. Bruno and Balance both look around the ring and then at each other. After a few seconds staring at each other, Bruno offers a handshake. Balance takes Bruno's hand, shakes it, and then raises it for the crowd. Both men speak with each other in the ring before heading out. Both men walk backstage together.*
